Two Eye Liners That I HATE

I’m going to review two eyeliners that are nothing but shit. These eyeliners are so bad that I don’t even know where to begin hence the negative ratings. So instead of writing paragraphs, I’m going to put this review in points. In the photos, I have swiped each eye liner 3-4 times on the left and once on the right. So without further adieu, I present to you my pathetic experience with these eyeliners.

Elle 18 Color Pops Eye Sparklers in “Purple Pataka’

Price:
Rs 85

  • It applies so sheer, I need to go over the line at least thrice.
  • Super greasy and staying power is HORRIBLE.
  • Creases a lot and smudges in just 1 hour. When applied as an eye liner it smudges and transfers on to the top of my crease. Sick.
  • No way in hell it can be used as an eyeshadow.
  • I cannot sharpen this useless pencil without it breaking off. Either the whole eyeliner is broken from the inside and/or it's too soft to sharpen. In the photo you can see how the eyeliner is broken even when sharpened.
  • I rubbed my finger once on both the left and right swatches and they disappeared! See what I meant by horrible staying power? (check out the swatches at the end of this review)
Rating:
-5/5

Lakme Shadow Artist Shimmer Stick in “Glimmer Green”

Price:
Rs 350/-

  • This one too, applies sheer and I need to go over the line at least thrice.
  • Greasy and horrible staying power.
  • Changes from green to a yellowish-disgusting-green in 2 hours. I really don’t know why.
  • Creases, smudges, cannot be used as an eye shadow at all.
  • Can be used as an eye shadow base.
  • Easy to sharpen and it doesn’t break off during sharpening.
  • EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for such horrible quality.
  • After rubbing my finger once on the swatch, the one on the left became translucent whereas the left swatch almost disappeared. (check out the swatches at the end of this review)

-3/5

Colorbar Color Intense Liquid Eye liner in “Beyond Blue”

Today I’m going to review my current favorite eyeliner which was a gift from my girlfriend. I’m not big on liquid eyeliners but this one made me fall in love with them all over again. This shade is called “Beyond Blue”; it’s a dull turquoise shade with a metallic sheen to it.

The pigmentation is brilliant. One stroke is enough to get that vibrant color on the eye lids. The felt tip applicator makes the application super easy. It applies the eyeliner thin but you can widen it accordingly to your preference. What I’ve noticed about a lot of liquid eyeliners is that they tend to get slightly streaky when an additional stroke is made. This eyeliner does not get streaky one bit and doesn’t dry super quickly so you can take your time widening the line. It dries in around 15 secs.

What I like the most about this eyeliner is the fact that it doesn’t smudge or crack for 4-5 hrs straight on my oily eyelids despite being non-waterproof. That being said, this eyeliner doesn’t stay all day. I wouldn’t wear this on a clubbing night out because it does tend to smudge a bit with sweat and humidity and with slight tearing of the eyes.  Since it’s not waterproof, removing it is really easy.

Over all, I’m in love with this eyeliner and the shade and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more shades!

Price:
Rs 350 for 3 ml.

Pros:
·        Stays on for a good 5 hours without cracking.
·        Vibrant color and doesn’t fade on oily lids.
·        Felt tip applicator makes it easy to apply the eyeliner.
·        Not streaky.
·        Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact wearers.

Cons:
·        Not waterproof. (not really a con for me)
·        Doesn’t stay all day as compared to other eyeliners.

Corrective Color Concealers and How to Use Them

What are Corrective Color Concealers?
Corrective Color Concealers basically follow the simple rule of ‘neutralizing’ an opposite color on the skin and then hiding it to match the respective skin tone just as in a Color Wheel where the color opposite to a particular shade neutralizes it. These concealers come in various colors ranging from the natural skin tone color to colors like green and purple.

A color like yellow helps to tone down and even out the skin tone. However, it does not ‘hide’ anything specifically which is why we need other colors to do that.

Just like working with a normal concealer, after applying the corrective concealer set it with powder. These are used prior to application of foundation.

Different Colors of Concealers:
Apart from the natural skin tone colors, the colors available nowadays are:
White, Beige, Yellow, Orange Mint Green, Light Green, Lavender Purple, Mauve, Light Blue, Pink and Light Peach.

How to Use them:

  • White: Used with Beige to cover up heavy under eye dark circles.
  • Beige:  Used to conceal slight shadows and brighten up the complexion and under eye area. Used with White to conceal heavy under eye dark circles and around the nose area to conceal slight shadows.
  • Yellow and Orange: Neutralizes redness and brown discoloration. Used to conceal red blemishes, bruises and tone down any redness on the face near the nose, lip area, cheeks etc and on brown spots. Orange helps to neutralize the blue toned under eye dark circles and purple bruises.
  • Mint/Light Green: Neutralizes redness as well. If the redness is too dark, mint/light green is used with/without yellow to neutralize it. Works the same as the Yellow concealer except only on darker red spots and scars.
  • Lavender Purple: Used to neutralize yellow-colored bruises or imperfections, yellow under eye or cheek area due to an illness/flu etc on bronze-olive skin tones.
  • Mauve: Used to cover up dark/black spots and visible veins on the face.
  • Light Blue: Used to neutralize orange spots, tan lines/spots, age spots and freckles.
  • Pink: Used to conceal dark gray shadows just below puffy under eye dark circle area and and shadows around the nose.
  • Light Peach: Used to brighten up olive skin tones and balance out slight color discolorations. Can be used for slight coverage of blue veins.
NOTE: Under eye dark circles come under blue, purple and brownish tones therefore they are neutralized by yellow and orange.

Hope this helps you ladies out there who are struggling with concealing those tough under eye dark circles and blemish/scar marks.

Happy Concealing! J

Konad iloje Flobu Eye Shadow in ‘ #002 White Pearl’

It’s been a while since my last review. Today, I’m going to review my current favorite eye shadow that I’ve been using since the past 2 weeks. This is from the brand Konad iloje Flobu (I still haven’t figured out the pronunciation for this interesting name!). I bought the White Pearl shade since I needed a new highlighter.

Packaging:
A hard plastic see through packaging that protects the eye shadow from falling and/or breaking.

Shades available:
Konad iloje Flobu eye shadows come in 10 shades : White, White Pearl, Soft gray, Dark Grey, Black, Romantic Pink, Pink Pearl, Ultra Violet, Evergreen and Chocolate.

My Experience with this eye shadow:

This White Pearl eye shadow is silky smooth, blends amazingly, and has a brilliant pigmentation. I love how it doesn’t crease without a primer even in the humid monsoons of Mumbai. I applied this on my eye lid at around 11 am and it stayed put till 10 pm at night after which it needed a slight touch up.

It can be used as a highlighter for the brown bones, inner tear duct area and also on the cheekbones. However, this shade might be too white for a medium skin tone and may wash down the skin tone. Dark skinned women may use this as a lid color and not as a brow bone highlighter since it has a tendency to look slightly chalky. This doesn’t happen on a fairer skin tone, but if intensified it gets chalky and the pearl finish doesn’t shine through.

Over all, I love this eye shadow and I can’t wait to get my hands on the other shades. Considering the extremely affordable price, quantity and quality, these eye shadows are a must try!

Price:
Rs. 130

Pros of Konad iloje Flobu Eye Shadow in ‘ #002 White Pearl’:
  • Super smooth application.
  • Can be used as a highlighter.
  • Pigmentation is pretty good and can be intensified if needed.
  • Doesn’t crease or fade away.
  • Staying power is great with/without primer. (Stays put for almost an entire day!)
  • 10 shades to select from.
  • Inexpensive for the quantity and quality.
  • Easily available online in India.
  • Shelf life of 3 years.
Cons of Konad iloje Flobu Eye Shadow in ‘ #002 White Pearl’:
  • This particular shade might look too white on medium-dark skin tones.
  • Tends to get chalky when intensified.
Rating:
3.75/5

Will I repurchase this eye shadow?
Not this shade really. However, I’ll try out the other shades.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow in ‘Turquoise Forever’

What Maybelline Claims about 24 Hr Color Tattoo Eye Shadows:

24HR intensity. Tattoo tenacity. Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow. Our ink technology creates super-saturated color. Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade. Available in 10 shades.

My Experience with this eyeshadow:

I love the packaging of this eyeshadow. It’s very sturdy and a lot like MAC. During application on the eyelids, the gel cream eyeshadow tends to dry and stick to the eye lid really quick. I had to blend it out really fast and do one eye at a time.

I am in love with the pigmentation of this eyeshadow and all the other shades from the same range. These are super pigmented in just one swipe. In the photo, I have swatched the eyeshadow from left to right; swiped once, swiped twice and third is blended out.

The eyeshadow stays put the entire day which I absolutely love! I applied this on my eye lids at around 11 am and went out in heavy rainfall and I only got home at around 11 pm. To my surprise, the eyeshadow had not faded away one bit. No creasing what so ever. The color was still vibrant as though I had applied it just a few minutes ago. Since it is waterproof, you’ll require a waterproof eye makeup remover to remove it.

I cannot really comment on the ’24HR’ claim since I haven’t ever worn makeup for more than 15 hours. I don’t think it’s even healthy for the skin to keep makeup on for so long.  These eyeshadow stayed on for almost 12 hrs without fading or creasing. Need I say more?

For such an amazing quantity and quality the price is very affordable. In my opinion, these eyeshadows are by far, the best product Maybelline has ever had. I’m super impressed!

Over all, the eyeshadow lives up to the claims made my Maybelline and I am crazy in love with the Color Tattoo 24 Hr eyeshadows. I can’t wait for these to be launched in India.

 Price:
BD 4.300 / Rs. 631 Approx.

Pros of Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in ‘Turquoise Forever’:
  • Brilliant pigmentation and blend easily.
  • Stay put all day (more than 14 hours!)
  • Doesn’t crease one bit and is waterproof.
  • Doesn’t fade even after 12 hrs.
  • Affordable for the quality and quantity.
  • Amazing range of colors available.
  • Sturdy and chic packaging.

Cons of Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in ‘Turquoise Forever’:
  • Not avaible in India yet.
  • Needs quick blending since the eyeshadow tends to dry up on the eye lid fast.

Colorbar USA Velvet Matte Lipstick '#60 or Obsessed Orange’

I finally managed to get my hands on the ‘Obsessed Orange’ shade and I’m super stoked to review it for you ladies.

Since we all are pretty familiar with Colorbar’s Velvet Matte Lipstick packaging, I’m going to skip that. Also, I absolutely love the packaging.

Obsessed Orange is a true orange shade. Not coral, just plain bright orange. In the tube it is super bright but when applied on the lips, its actually quiet flattering. And I’m guessing almost every skin tone can pull this off which is a plus point since not everybody can pull off coral shades.

The texture is very smooth and doesn’t dry fast during application. I like how this shade isn’t very creamy because extremely creamy lipsticks look horrible when they settle down in fine lines especially the bright shade ones. This shade is not chalky and doesn’t dry my lips at all. It doesn’t settle into fine lines. That being said, it isn’t the most moisturizing lipstick. You’ll need a bit of lip balm prior to application. The lipstick stays on semi-matte and for a good 5 hours.

If you are looking for the perfect bright orange lipstick, this has got to be the one. Try it out if you are up for bright shades and you’ll be hooked on it!

Lip Swatches- With and without flash:

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick '#60 or Obsessed Orange':
  • Non-drying.
  • Doesn’t settle into fine lines and has a semi-matte finish.
  • Affordable and easily available in India.
  • Almost every skin tone can pull this color off.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick '#60 or Obsessed Orange':
  • None that I can think of!
Rating:
4.5/5

Would I recommend this lipstick?
Hell yes!

NIVEA Beauté Soft Liner in Shade #02 Graphite

Hello ladies!
I’m here with another NIVEA makeup review and this time I’m going to review a pencil eyeliner from NIVEA’s eye makeup range.

My mother recently went shopping and decided to buy me makeup. I love it when she does that because her choice is so very different from mine; it’s always fun to see what she’s got for me to experiment with. One of the products she got me was the Soft Liner pencil from NIVEA Beauté in Shade #02 Graphite.

Shade #02 Graphite is super black. It is one of the most pigmented black eye pencils I’ve ever used. The eyeliner is super soft and glides on the eyelids like a dream. In the photos, I’ve swatched it once on the right and 2 times on the left. I don’t think the photos do any justice to how pigmented this liner really is. Love it for the pigmentation.

The staying power is pretty bad. The eye liner is NOT waterproof and is slightly greasy. I’m not sure if greasy is the right word but it is a lot like the Indian Kajal. When used without a base or set without eyeshadow it spreads, smudges, feathers and so on. That’s my biggest problem with this eyeliner. Even with primed eyelids, it only stays for 2 hours or less and the color gets transferred to the area just above my crease! (Eeeks!)

The only way I can use this eye liner is as a black eyeshadow base. It works perfectly as a black base. (Over primer of course) I used to use the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean and I’m going to be replacing it with my NIVEA Soft Liner now. Love it as a base!

I wouldn’t recommend using this eyeliner on the waterline since it’s creamy and would just spread all over your lower lid area. Tried and tested.

Over all, it’s definitely not my favorite eyeliner but I love it as a black eyeshadow base. I’m definitely going to purchase this eyeliner going only for the sole purpose of using it as a base because it is inexpensive and I don’t use black bases that often.

Price:
Approx. Rs. 210

Pros of NIVEA Beauté Soft Liner in Shade #02 Graphite:
  • Super pigmented and creamy.
  • Soft and glides on the eyelids like a dream.
  • Best used as black base for eyeshadows.
  • Inexpensive.

Cons of NIVEA Beauté Soft Liner in Shade #02 Graphite:
  • Smudges A LOT and staying power is max. 2 hours.
  • Not water-proof.
  • Non-availability in India.
  • Wastage due to sharpening.
Rating:
2.5/5

Would I repurchase this product?
I would, but only for the sole purpose of using it as a black base and not as an eye liner.

NYX Single Eyeshadow in Shade #ES94 LUXOR

NYX Cosmetics has some of the most pigmented eye shadows that I’ve ever used and today I’m going to be reviewing one of the not-so-pigmented eye shadows that left me high and dry.

I recently purchased the NYX Single Eye shadow in Shade #ES94 LUXOR and I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now. This is a pearlescent purple color that shines blue at certain angles. It is  a duo-chrome. It shines a blue-ish violet when applied on a black base.

When I bought this eye shadow, I was super stoked to try new makeup looks with it. When I swatched it at the store, the pigmentation was brilliant, texture was smooth and the color looked beautiful! Sadly, when I got back home and tried applying it to my eyelids, the pigmentation was average. It is a light pink color when applied without a primer which isn’t what I wanted. So I primed my eyelids and applied it again. This time, it came off as pinkish purple shade. I tried to build the color my pressing on my eye shadow, but it just stayed at a pinkish-purple slightly darker. The blue shine was nowhere to be seen! L Then, I used a white eye shadow base. This is when the color was more visible and brighter and I absolutely loved it. But it was missing the blue shine that I so badly wanted.  Finally I used it on a black base and the color was beautiful! The blue shine that I wanted for so long was FINALLY there! This eye shadow application drove me crazy. This is when I realized it was duo-chrome!

The pigmentation is average but surprising the staying power is real good! Also, the texture is soft and smooth and the eye shadow blends really well too. Not chalky one bit. I can’t use a black base all the time along with more eye shadows on my eyelids, so I use this eye shadow just above the crease for a pinkish touch. (Since this is how it appears without a black base).

I’m not a fan of pink shades so this eye shadow was a bummer for me! I really wish the purple was as brilliant on my eyelids as in the pot.

Overall, #ES94 LUXOR is a pretty good shade if you’re into pinkish-purple shades. Is it the best purple I’ve used? Hell no. However, the duo-chrome part is quiet exciting.

In the photo, I’ve swatched the eye shadow from left to right: directly on my skin, on a primer, on a white eye shadow base and on a black eye shadow base. (I had to go over two or three times to build that color on my skin without any primer, sigh.)

With flash:

In Natural Light:

Price:
Rs. 550 for 2.0 grams

Pros of NYX Single Eye shadow in Shade #ES94 LUXOR
  • Sturdy packaging. (My NYX single eye shadows have survived a lot of falls)
  • Long lasting when used with primer.
  • Duo-chrome.
  • Decently priced for the amazing quantity.
  • Smooth texture, blend-able and not chalky one bit.
  • Easily available in India and on online shopping websites.
Cons of NYX Single Eye shadow in Shade #ES94 LUXOR
  • Average pigmentation; needs primer to show its real color.
  • Completely different shade on the skin and in the pot.
Rating:
3.5/5

Would I repurchase this eye shadow?
Nope. But if you are into such shades, then this would be the eye shadow for you.

Maybelline New York Pure Stay Foundation in Shade #30 NUDE

Hello Ladies!

Today, I’m going to be reviewing one of my all-time favorite powder foundations from “Maybelline New York” from their “Pure Stay” range. I have been using this powder foundation for almost 5 years now along with my MaxFactor Liquid Foundation and its perfect for my skin. I use this in Shade #30 Nude; perfect for fair-skinned women. The “Pure Stay” range has only 8 shades starting from #10 Ivory (extremely fair) to #110 Tan (tanned olive skin tone). There are no shades for dark-skinned women in this range which is quite a bummer since this powder foundation is amazing.
Let me start off with the packaging. I love the packaging. It is very easy to carry around, sturdy and comes with a cute mirror and sponge. They haven’t changed this packaging for years now; it’s the same from the day I started using this product years ago.

Product Description:
Long-wearing powder foundation leaves skin looking pure and fresh. Skin feels soft and comfortable for hours and hours.

My Experience with Maybelline New York Pure Stay Powder Foundation:
As I said earlier, I’ve been using this powder foundation for years. I’m a huge fan of the “Pure Stay” range. This is a medium-coverage powder foundation which means it does cover those red blemishes and tiny marks/scars on the face, but not completely. It gives a very natural finish to the face with its medium coverage. The best part about this powder is its texture and finish. The texture is super smooth and soft and when applied it leaves the skin fresh, matte and not chalky at all.
I’ve had a hard time selecting powder foundations that have the same finish as this one, so I decided to stick to “Maybelline’s Pure Stay” range itself.
When applied, it might look a bit over the top (depending on how much product you’ve applied on your face), but give it a few minutes and it all sets in. If you have dry skin, you” MUST” moisturize your face before applying this powder foundation or else it’ll end up making your dry skin look flaky.
This foundation makes your skin matte and even at the end of the day, all you need is a slight touch up and you’re done. I have sensitive skin and this foundation does not make my skin break out at all, which I absolutely LOVE. It feels really light on my skin and I don’t feel like I have any foundation on throughout the day and it also makes my skin feel super soft. It doesn’t even clog my pores, in fact it makes them appear smaller.
I use this powder to set my liquid foundation on my face for evenings and just by itself during the day. Full coverage liquid foundation during the day is a strict no-no, so I stick to powders. The added benefit is that this powder has SPF 15 sunscreen, which is quite good for the skin. I apply this using a kabuki brush. Also, it is fragrance free/odorless, which is another plus point for me since I hate perfumed products on my face.
Once purchased, it lasts me for about 4-5 months which is quite good considering how affordable the foundation is and the quantity is pretty good too.
Overall, this is one of the BEST powder foundations and I’m a loyal customer. In fact, a lot of my girls are using the same for years too!
Price:
BD 4.5 / Rs. 590 approximately.

Pros of Maybelline New York Pure Stay Powder Foundation:

  • Long lasting (stays almost the entire day).
  • Gives the skin a matte finish and prevents the T-zone from shining.
  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Contains SPF 15 sunscreen.
  • Gives a very natural finish to the face and does not clog pores.
  • Fragrance free/odorless.
  • Inexpensive for the price.
  • Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic.

Cons of Maybelline New York Pure Stay Powder Foundation:

  • Non-availability in India.
  • Comes only in 8 shades from extremely fair to medium skin tone.
Rating:
5/5.

Golden Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hello My Lovelies!

Today, I’m going to be showing you a picture tutorial of the eye makeup I had applied recently.

Following are the steps:
  • Apply your favorite eye shadow primer and apply NYX eye shadow base in white all over the eyelid.
  • Apply a light brown eye shadow in the crease and slightly above it; blend it properly.
  • Take a darker brown and apply it on the outer corner of the eye, outer 1/3rd of the eye and in the crease. Blend it properly with the lighter brown previously applied.
  • Take a crease brush and make an outer V with a matte black eye shadow. Blend this on the outer 1/3rd of the eye along with the brown with a fluffy/blending brush. Note: All colors used so far are “matte.”
  • Take some shimmery golden eye shadow pigment and apply it to the remaining 2/3rd of the eyelid. I’ve used the “Faces Stackable – Enchanted in Golden” shade with a flat shading brush. Blend it well with the blacks and browns.
  • Use a highlight color on your brow bone and on the inner corner of the eye (tear duct area) and blend it well with the golden pigment.
  • Take a pencil brush and apply the golden pigment on the bottom lash line (inner 1/2 of the lash line) and apply a dark brown on the outer half of the bottom lash line. Blend any harsh lines.
  • Go ahead with all the colors again if you want to intensify the colors or if you have lost any color due to excessive blending. DO NOT BLEND the golden pigments too much. They tend to fade away, so use small patting motions when applying pigments.
  • Line your water line with a black gel liner. I’ve used the Inglot gel liner.
  • Apply eyeliner on the upper lash line and slightly wing it. Extend it on the inner corner to make your eyes applying slimmer and more feline; this is mostly used in “Arabic” eye makeup. You can line the bottom lash line as well. I have skipped it since I didn’t want it to look extreme.
  • Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.
  • Apply concealer below your eyes and cheek bones to hide away any discoloration or eye shadow fall-outs.

Note:You can also use false eye lashes, I have skipped this step since I’m not a fan of false eyelashes. If you want a more subtle look, you can use only dark browns and skip the black eye shadow.

Hope this tutorial helped you girls! I’ll keep you posted with more makeup tutorials.

Products Used For This Tutorial:

  • BHCosmetics – Eye and Lip Primer, 120 Eye shadow Palette.
  • Lakme Moon Dust palette- BLACK eyeshadow from this palette.
  • L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagene Waterproof Mascara.

  • Too Faced Cosmetics – Silk Teddy eyeshadow (for highlighting).

GOSH I Love You! Creme Deo Roll-On

I’m a huge fan of GOSH Cosmetics for years now and today I’m going to review a deodorant from their 'fragrance' range. This deodorant is a creme roll-on deo called ‘I Love You!’ Isn’t that the cutest name ever for a deo?

Let me start off with the packaging first. GOSH deodorants come in 2 types viz. roll-on or spray. All of these deodorants have hearts on the packaging which I absolutely love. The colors of the hearts depend on the name and fragrance of the deo, which I personally find very fascinating! It gives a very girly feel to it and makes me happy just looking at all those colorful hearts on it. The packaging is VERY sturdy and quite heavy.

This crème roll-on deo is alcohol free. It takes about 2 minutes to dry off when applied on the underarms. It claims to be an antiperspirant, but it really isn’t one. It doesn’t help with reducing sweat. However, that being said, it keeps my underarms slightly dry with an amazing fragrance all day long. I wouldn’t really suggest using this if you sweat a lot or stay in an extremely humid place. What I’ve noticed about GOSH roll-on deodorants is that regardless of sweating or bad weather, they keep the underarms smelling amazing for a good 8 hours. The fragrance is so fresh all day, it’s really good!
This is a real good deo if you don’t sweat a lot. I quite like this deo especially for its fragrance and also because it is non-sticky. Overall, not one of my all-time favorites, but I use it a lot during spring since its not that hot and humid then. The only issue is its non-availability in India.

The Notes in GOSH I Love You! Crème Deo Roll-On:
Top Notes: Strong perfume of fresh lime, grapefruit and litchi.
Heart Notes: Musk and grapefruit with a subtle hint of ginger.
Base Notes: A combination of Jasmine, Musk and Rose. Subtle yet very sensual!

Price:
BD 1.6/Rs. 210 approximately for 75 ml.

Pros of GOSH I Love You! Creme Deo Roll-On:

  • Alcohol free and non-sticky.
  • Sturdy and very girly packaging.
  • Decently priced.
  • Has an amazing fragrance throughout the day, even in slightly humid weather conditions.

Cons of GOSH I Love You! Creme Deo Roll-On:

  • Fails its claim of being an antiperspirant.
  • Non-availability in India.
Rating:
3.5/5
Would I Recommend GOSH I Love You! Creme Deo Roll-On?
Yes, but only for those of you who don’t sweat a lot and live in less humid or dry weather conditions. I’m already on my second bottle.

Vedic Line – Fig and Honey Moisturizer Vedic Line – Fig and Honey Moisturizer

I came across Vedic Line a few days ago and since I absolutely love natural products, I knew I had to try out at least one product from this Brand. Vedic Line is an Ayurvedic range of products and everything they use is 100% natural. They don’t test on animals.

The product I’m going to be reviewing today is the Fig and Honey moisturizer that I ordered online. Let’s start off with the packaging of the product. The moisturizer tube has a very simple packaging. I love how the colors they’ve used are so subtle and natural-looking; nothing fancy, yet pretty at the same time.

At the back of the tube the directions to use, ingredient list and expiry date is mentioned (Best before 36 months from date of Mfg.) It has symbols with writing claiming: ‘100% derived from the Vegetable Mineral Kingdom’, ‘Not Tested on Animals’ and ‘100% Veg’.

The tube has an aluminum foil fastening the tip to show it is seal packed. UNFORTUNATELY, the seal was broken and my cream was a bit on the lid on the inside. What a bummer. I fixed it a bit to give you an idea of how it looks like when it should’ve been sealed.

This moisturizer does have the fragrance of a ripe fig and slight hint of honey. Somehow and I don’t know why, I can smell turmeric/sandalwood (just a slight hint of it). The fragrance is great when first applied, but then it just builds up and is too strong and gave me a slight headache every time my hands came to my face. I ended up washing my hands in an hour. This product can be used on the face, but I chose not to because lets face it you don’t want to try something so new first off on the face! I love how it’s not greasy one bit and made my hands feel super soft.

I’m not a fan of this product, but I would definitely check out other products from Vedic Line.

Price:

Rs. 70 for 50 ml

Pros of Vedic Line Fig and Honey Moisturizer:

  • Super moisturizing and non greasy.
  • 100% Natural products used
  • Inexpensive

Cons of Vedic Line Fig and Honey Moisturizer:

  • The fragrance is too strong; I really don’t like strong fragrances as such.
  • The freshness/seal on the tube was broken.

Rating:

2.5/5

Would I repurchase this product?
Hell no.

Korpse Kosmetics Octo-Ink Gel Liner in Shade Octopoda

After my last review on Korpse Kosmetics’ Eyeshadow Pigments, I’m here with yet another product from Korpse Kosmetics, the Octo-Ink Gel liner in Shade #Octopoda.

Octo-Ink Gel Liners come in just 5 shades:
  • Octopoda-Blue.
  • Chariclo- Silver.
  • Kraken-Dark Shimmery Grey.
  • Na Kika-Black with Gold shimmer.
  • Kiribati- a dark Eggplant purple.

The Octopoda gel liner is my current favorite and I’ve been wearing it almost everyday for the last few days.

Let me start off with the packaging. It’s a plastic jar, not too sturdy, but can withstand a few falls. The label on the jar is rather cheap looking. Korpse Kosmetics should really start putting the brand labels on the products. The size is the same as the eye shadow pigment jars; the size of a 2-rupee coin.

The eyeliner is an aqua marine, bright blue color with golden shimmer in it. The texture is great and applies really well too. This gel liner is not waterproof; however, that being said, it doesn’t smudge one bit through out the day. It stayed on my eyelids for almost 8-10 hours without primer in humid Mumbai!

To be honest, I expected this eyeliner to spread like butter all over my eyelids by the end of the day, but it stayed put on my eyelids all day.

The pigmentation of this eyeliner is amazing. It can be used as an eyeshadow base too by spreading it immediately after application. I have a strong feeling that this gel liner will tend to dry up in a few months, the texture is really nice, but it just feels like it’ll dry up.

Overall, this is one of my best purchases in the last one week and I’m completely satisfied with this product. I’m in love with this gel liner. If you haven’t checked out “Korpse Kosmetics” yet, make sure you do. The gel liners and eye shadow pigments are my overall favorites from all the products offered.
