Maybelline Eye Studio 'Give Me Gold' Eye Shadow Quartet

The 'Give Me Gold' quad also goes by the name 'Copper Brown', I really don't know why. Every site has it named either one of those two. It has four different shades: Light Champagne, Gold, Copper and Brown. All of these colors have a satin finish with slight shimmer. The pigmentation is really good, the colors are easy to work with and blend really well. By far one of my favorite drugstore eyeshadow quads. :)

The packing isn't great and is sort of flimsy. You can't carry this eyeshadow quad around with you all the time which is slightly disappointing considering how pretty the eyeshadow colors are. At the back of the palette, theres an illustration showing the application of the eyeshadows. I really didn't follow it, but its pretty good for beginners.

This quad comes with a sponge applicator, thick on one side for eyelid application and thin on the other side for inner corners of the eyes. I usually never use these palette sponge applicators, but this one is pretty good.

The colors from left to right without primer:

1- A beautiful champagne white color with slight shimmer. Can be used as a highlighter and near the tear ducts. Slight fall out during application.

2- A satin gold color that can be used over the eyelid or even as a highlighter.

3- This eyeshadow is my favorite one from this quad. Satin Copper with slight shimmer. Its so pretty and looks great on the eyelids.

4- Brown with slight shimmer. This shade can be used to create a smokey eye look. Slight fall out during application.

This is how it looks with primer on my eyelid in natural light.

Price:
Rs 375

Pros:
- Well pigmented(primer isn't really necessary) and easy to blend.
- Doesn't crease for more than 3 hours.
- Sponge applicator in this palette is pretty good.
- Good quantity for the price. (2.5g for Rs 375 not bad!)

Cons:
- Slight fall out in the champagne white and brown shades.
- Flimsy packaging.

Rating:
4/5

Would I repurchase this product?
Absolutely! I might try other quads from this collection soon. :)

NYX Eye Shadow Base in White

NYX Eyeshadow Base comes in three different colors viz; White Pearl, White and Skin Tone. I'm going to be reviewing the white eyeshadow base.

The white eyeshadow base is a lot like the NYX Jumbo pencil in the shade 'Milk'. It is less creamier than the jumbo pencil and creases comparatively less. It is not too thick and has a smooth application. The main idea of a white eyeshadow base is to make bright colors 'pop' even more than they would on a skin tone eyeshadow base. Since it comes in a tiny pot, you might need to use a brush as using your finger might just get bacteria into it causing break outs. Eeks. If you don't have a brush, keep a hand sanitiser handy.

Now, about the fragrance. This eyeshadow base smells like baby talcum powder, which might be a little problem for some of you out there. Personally, I quiet like it. Although, I usually prefer eyeshadow bases that are perfume free.

Over all, I love this eyeshadow base because it makes all my funky eyeshadows look brighter. Really good quantity for the price and you just need to use a tiny bit of it for an entire eyelid, that way you can use it for a good 2 years.

Price:
Rs. 625 for 7g

Pros:
- Less creamier than NYX Jumbo Pencil in 'Milk'
- Makes bright eyeshadows 'pop' and look brighter.
- Smooth application
- Good quantity for the price

Cons:
- Smells like baby talcum powder
- Needs a brush to apply since it is in tiny pot.

4.5/5
